Pets go beyond just being a faithful companion. They can reduce stress, lower blood pressure, and give us a sense of purpose. It's not just cats or dogs; even fish or an iguana can be a good pet. Animals can help reduce cortisol and lower stress. It's difficult to be lonely when you have a cute puppy wanting to play! They can help increase our physical activity as well as provide a snuggly buddy at night. Dogs can be service animals and help people with chronic or dangerous illnesses.
