Everywhere you turn these days, it seems essential oils are touted as miracle cure-alls for whatever ails you. Do they really have benefits?
Essential oils are an alternative medicine approach to what ails you. Beyond smelling great, they claim to have health benefits. Essential oils are concentrated plant extracts. They can be used in aromatherapy to boost mood, relax you, or even assist in alleviating your stuffy nose. Common oils used are lavender, rose, lemon or citrus, and eucalyptus. They are available in many forms, for diffusing, in creams and lotions, and even roll-on. Some people consume certain oils in teas and foods. While these can be great in many ways, caution should be used when diffusing or using certain oils.
