Feeling down, anxious, or fatigued? Go outside! So many of us sit in front of a computer screen all day, live in urban environments, or stay inside most of the time. This can cause depression, anxiety, and fatigue. Going outside into nature can lift mood, decrease anxiety, and help our minds and bodies relax. This can improve concentration and focus. Something as simple as a quick walk outside can boost creativity and problem-solving skills. Being outdoors also increases vitamin D level, which is important for healthy, strong bones and our immune system. Regular access to the great outdoors can lower your risk of depression and help improve natural sleep cycles, which can enable us to have better sleep.Â
