Ginger

ree

We're not talking about Gilligan's Island Ginger here! Ginger is a root that adds a spicy kick to foods and baked goods, and it's good for you! It has anti-nausea properties, it can aid in digestion, and it contains antioxidants. You can consume it in drinks such as tea or ginger ale, put it in cookies, breads, stir fry dishes, and many other things. Asian countries typically use ginger in their dishes. It can be bought fresh or dried in powder form. Researchers recommend consuming ginger in foods and drinks rather than in supplement form, as high doses of ginger can have an anticoagulatory effect, and the FDA does not regulate most supplements. Always discuss with your physician before consuming foods or supplements, especially if you take a blood thinner.
