Physical Therapy

Maybe you've heard the term "physical therapy." Perhaps you know someone who had an injury and went through a course of it, or maybe you've been through physical therapy yourself. So what is it, exactly, and how can it help?

Physical therapy is defined as the treatment of disease, injury, or deformity by physical methods such as massage, heat treatment, and exercise rather than by drugs or surgery. This can be prescribed by a physician or healthcare provider to aid in the relief of pain, improve mobility and

strength, and also to help manage chronic illnesses. What’s Physical Therapy? How to Feel and Function Better

People who perform the service of physical therapy go to school and must become licensed in order to perform physical therapy on patients. They start the process by performing an assessment of the patient. This allows them to create a treatment plan based on the individual needs of each patient. Treatment plans implement things like massage, certain movements of exercise, heat, and ice, as well as other modalities.
