Tea Time

Tea, anyone? Tea has been around for thousands of years, thought to have originated in China. During the Tang dynasty (618-907 AD) tea became popular and a part of everyday life. Tea is still very much a common thing in Britain and other countries. Over the centuries, people have been enjoying tea and possibly reaping some health benefits as well.  Numerous studies have shown that certain teas have the ability to reduce inflammation and even boost our immune systems. There are many types of tea from white, herbal and black, even green tea, each with its own benefits. Research has shown that white tea may be the best at fighting different types of cancer due to its high level of antioxidants, while green tea is exceptionally high in flavonoids, which can help lower LDL cholesterol and boost heart health. There are caffeinated and caffeine-free types of tea. Whether you enjoy tea hot or cold, it's good to know it's good for you.
