Did you know that regular chiropractic adjustments can be a natural way to help your body stay healthy?

Regular chiropractic adjustments not only help correct and prevent future musculoskeletal problems, they can help boost your immune system. The central nervous system controls the functions of the entire body, including that of the immune system, and the spine is a part of the nervous system. When our spines are not in alignment, the nervous systems suffers. Regular adjustments to the spine can improve the overall health of your central nervous system and prevent injuries and stress to nerves, which in turn can help support a healthy immune system. This is especially important as we enter into cold and flu season. Chiropractic combined with frequent exercise such as walking or yoga, restful sleep, and a healthy diet can aid the immune system in fighting off illnesses.

A study was done by Ronald Pero, PhD, who is the chief of cancer prevention research at

New York's Preventive Medicine Institute. In his 3-year study, he measured the immune systems of 107 people under chiropractic care for 5 years or more versus the immune systems of those in the general public not undergoing regular chiropractic care, some with cancer and underlying disease and some without cancer. "The chiropractic patients were found to have a 200% greater immune competence than those people who had not received chiropractic care, and they had 400% greater immune competence than those people with cancer and other serious diseases. The immune system superiority of those under chiropractic care did not appear to diminish with age."
